It seems like the potential is there but they may have wanted to give the stockholders something to cheer about before march. They didn't show what the new eyetoy was capable of. They didn't even show the system or what the new controller was capable of.

Another game that the sony Fanboys hyped up that failed to sell worth a damn. Having said that the game wasn't too bad but it felt like a downloadable title instead of a disc based game.

Just some observations based off the comments abbove
1. Xbox Live should be free but its okay for Sony to charge for PSN+
2. I have been on Xbl for 10 years and rarely have I ever paid full price. I think that even today you can easily find it for 30-35 bucks. If you can afford 2-5 bucks a month for XBL maybe you should have another hobby.

My question is what has changed going into the next gen. Again M$ is still the company with all the money. If the systems are launching closer together then they are going to blow them out of the water with the tech in the 720 because they would financially be able to take a bigger loss on each system sold. Remember they got steady revenue coming in from Xbox live. Sony will have to charge for PSN next gen. M$ is making money hand over fists with XBL.
